Welcome to Australia, The Great Adventure. This is where you can tune in to our various adventures as we travel around Australia. This adventure of ours is both spiritual and physical. We have always wanted to explore Australia and after a close encounter with chronic fatigue syndrome caused us to re-evaluate our lives, we came to the conclusion through prayer and counsel that we are not living the life we want to be living.
At first we just wanted to travel because it has always been one of our dreams, but now we are also going because we know that our God has called us out to go on this great adventure. And as we travel this great country of ours, we invite you to join us and follow our adventures both physical AND spiritual.
So come on, get involved, click on the map to find where we are right now, and details about our route, the places we've been and have yet to go. You can check out our Travel Diary, and you are invited to get involved and join in by suggesting places we could visit on our travels.
Today's featured article: Advent CalendarHad a bit of fun the other day - I wanted an advent calendar for the boys, but not one of those tacky shop-bought “lolly” ones (besides, that would cut across a few too many food intolerance issues for us). So anyway, if you want something done right, then do it yourself, right? So I put together something in good ol’ ms publisher. | ||

Great Drives
(Jul 3rd, 2008)
The Discover Downunder site has released a fantastic collection of PDF maps of “Great Drives” in Australia. Each one has a detailed map, road conditions, and then you read on while it talks you through the drive. Caulfield Caravanning and Camping Show 2008
(May 21st, 2008)
We went to the Caulfield Caravanning and Camping Show when it was on last month. The plan was to check out all of the touring tents in one place - possibly even to pick up a show special. Which tent?

Man, you’d think we’d have figured it out by now! |

Circus Latino
(Oct 14th, 2008)
Circus Latino has been in Roxburgh Park – we had seen the Big Top as we drove past - the kids wanted to go of course, and so did I (I always want to go to the circus when one ‘comes to town’). And I suggested that perhaps we could go and meet some circus people and find out what it’s like being in the circus. RV & Camping Leisurefest
(Oct 6th, 2007)
Yesterday we went to the RV & Camping Leisurefest at Sandown racecourse. Interesting demographic - lots of retirees, and a few younger families like us. A Day Out At The Children’s Garden
(Sep 17th, 2007)
Today we went out to the Ian Potter Foundation Children’s Garden in the Royal Botanic Gardens Melbourne and everyone, even the adults, had a wonderful time. And the weather was really good too - you never know with Melbourne at the best of times, but in the middle of spring the weather’s even more unpredictable! |
Almost crashing on the rocks

I had a dream recently… By my own effort
(Dec 14th, 2007)
I have decided to not do things that would be me working myself out of my situation by my own effort, so that I can rely on God rather than my own strength. I think that I did this subconsciously in the past - where I was simply unable to complete internet projects. I have mostly dealt with that through the frontier statements that I worked through with a counsellor, but I felt with the 20/20 Challenge that I needed to not struggle and strive to provide my own solution to our problem in this case. And I don’t know, maybe that was right. I do know that I couldn’t have done that as well as the regular employment that I have been doing - the regular work has pushed me to my limit between then and now anyway. Asking God for stuff
(Dec 14th, 2007)
I was thinking about how I ask God for things, and I realised that it depended on how I expect to be able to provide them. |
In Praise of Ringo Starr
(Nov 6th, 2007)
Although this is talking from the context of having CFS, I think that this essay is inspiring for everyone: Support me = Respect my choices
(Oct 29th, 2007)
I mentioned to someone yesterday that I was running a fever - have been for a bit over two weeks now, courtesy of this cold I have (which has lasted so long courtesy of this Chronic Fatigue Syndrome that I have!). And he asked if I had taken panadol for it. |
