Advent Calendar

Had a bit of fun the other day - I wanted an advent calendar for the boys, but not one of those tacky shop-bought “lolly” ones (besides, that would cut across a few too many food intolerance issues for us).
So anyway, if you want something done right, then do it yourself, right? So I put together something in good ol’ ms publisher.
I had heard about people doing ‘activity’ advent calendars - ie. each day you have a Christmassy activity to do. Sounded like a good idea. Of course, I am hopelessly inadequate at coming up with lists of ideas myself, so I trawled the web and compiled a list of about 90 or so different ideas! Then picked out and modified the ones to suit us (ie. none of the Northern hemisphere cold weather related ones!), got a nice angel piccie and put something together myself.
Here’s what it looks like (each of the little boxes is a flap that lifts up, with the activity printed behind it)

You can download a PDF of the Advent Calendar (PDF). This has blank squares under each day for you to write in your own activities.
Or if you prefer, you can download it in MsPublisher 2003 format: Advent Calendar (publisher 2003). You can then edit the activities before you print it if you want to make them suit your family.
Both versions include instructions, and the full list of 90 or so activities to get you started. Please enjoy them for your own personal use.
And feel free to pass it on, but please refer people back to this web page rather than sending the actual file, thanks.
Merry Christmas to all,
Tim
