What we need in a Camper Trailer
Given that we are now looking at camper trailers (you know, the trailers that fold out into a tent, with the main bed already made up on the trailer), we need to define what we are looking for, so we know what is required and what is not.
What we would like is to find someone who has had enough of camping, and are selling off the lot - the camper trailer and all of the gear. They need to be local (Melbourne - preferably out the Northern / Western side). And it needs to come in at (well) less than $3,000.
Here is the list so far.
Must haves
- round plug
- stabilising jacks
- jockey wheel
- standaer tow hitch (this has a name?)
- inner sprung queen sized mattress, or space for ours (?x?x?)
- 12′ or more tent
- full annex walls, floor
- spare wheel
- less than 500kg, or more than 500kg with trailer brakes (the car can tow up to 700kg without brakes - I figure allowing 200kg for gear is ample)
Preferred
- tool box
- jerry can, gas cylinder holders
- 12/240v power
- inverter & solar panels, batteries
- camping gear (tables, chairs, kitchen, gas bottles, jerry cans, etc)
- stretchers / bunks
- ensuite tent
